Secondly this map makes extensive use of the location information provided by the Mendip Cave Registry and Archive as KML.Most of the sites displayed directly use the only data supplied by the Mendip Cave Registry and Archive. That is the airshafts and the other potential entrances being considered for linking into the Darkplaces site. Basically the Mendip Registry data being available now makes it easy to produce a quarry locations map for the Bath Freestone area. I am grateful that this data was made available as KML by their online search
Thirdly this map links to the access information provided by the Council of Southern Caving Clubs.
Finally the browser for the map data was created by hacking the Javascript of the Google maps browser for Dudley Caving Clubs excellent Llangattock map showing cave locations. This was written by Brendan Marris which in turn contained substantial code written by Bill Chadwick from Bracknell District Caving Club. I am grateful for permission to make use of their work
